About
My life has been shaped by two invisible forces: culture and language.I am a child of the myth of Brazilian lineage, born from the collision of Europe and Africa, and I have since created a hybrid family of my own: a French husband and children raised in American culture. Our home is a patchwork of cultural graces, accents, and inherited dreams.Though my roots run deep in Brazil, my branches have stretched across continents and disciplines. My career began in finance, first as a private banker at JPMorgan and later in the Brazilian hedge fund industry, before I surrendered to the deeper, more enigmatic corners of psychology and psychoanalysis, which I studied for several years. What compels me are the shadows of the human psyche, those places where memory, loss, and longing reside. I am fascinated by the stories we inherit and the ones we construct, shaping our attachments, our sense of belonging, our experience of loss, and the complicated ways we come to define ourselves. Words, to me, are both inheritance and possibility: they precede us, they name us, and they shape the world yet to come. Eventually, I found my own form of redemption in fiction, where the boundaries between memory and imagination begin to dissolve. For the past decade, my husband, our two children, and I have been discovering the American landscape, making homes among Connecticut’s seasons, California’s golden haze, and, most recently, Florida’s restless sun. I remain drawn to new places and ideas, to old books that remain timeless, and to the stories still waiting to be told.
